Doreen and some Canadians
Created by Christina 3 years ago
Hi Lyndey, and David, our condolences. I will miss your sweet little mum who welcomed me into her house every year for the past twenty, made me tea and biscuits, and then exchanged details about the world. As her world got smaller as she got older, and then sicker, she stayed engaged as long as I knew her. She loved to hear details about our snow (it got bigger in my stories every year!), the heat in the summer, our daughter's development, school, work - and then we would talk about what was really important: nail varnish, cooking shows, home repair shows, and our walks around the forest while there. She was always interested to hear our experiences, and to share hers. And she loved those cooking and home shows and the Vicar in the service was absolutely right, she loved being a homemaker - she loved seeing how people decorated and cooked and lived their lives. I am so honoured to have been a wee part of hers, and happy that she was a part of mine. As I listened to the service, your mum and her sweet forest accent was so vividly there. You all really have the best accents in all of Britain! Thank you Lyndey, for letting us be there for the service. And Doreen - sweet dreams and safe journeying. xo Christina, Rick, and Mia (we still have snow!)
